Can The Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody Impress A European?

The 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody is absolutely ferocious but is its brute force alone enough to impress the guys over at CarWow? Let’s find out.

To test the car, Mat Watson flew over to California and was handed the keys to a cherry red example with white racing stripes. Most of the video is spent walking around the car and it’s not until the final few minutes that we actually get to see what the Hellcat is like to drive.

The highlight of the super sedan is, of course, its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that has 707 hp and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque. Power is sent through the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission and the car can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.6 seconds, run down the quarter-mile in 10.96-seconds and hit a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h).

A car of this size and with so much power needs a lot of stopping force and thanks to Brembo brakes at all four corners, the Charger Hellcat Widebody has just that.

One trait of the car that appears to surprise Watson is just how well the car handles, something you may not expect from a big, heavy, and powerful sedan that wears a Dodge badge. The transmission is also very smooth and quickly changes through the gears, despite not being a dual-clutch like some more powerful sedans from Europe.

Those interested in the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody can purchase one from $69,645. However, some dealerships have been jacking up prices recently, particularly for the limited-run Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition cars.
